Re: Accelerated Reader and 10.3 workstation

Renee,

I am using 10.3 workstations at the moment (unmanaged for now) and I updated to AR 6.3 and any update causes the database to be updated and all stations have to be updated. this ar is osx native.
I have an applescript that mounts the sharepoint at login for the user.

tell application 'finder'
mount volume 'afp://<username>:<password>@<ip address of server>/ALSDATA
end tell

10.2.8 server
10.3 workstation
Accelerated Reader 5.x

I am having lots of trouble getting AR to work with a new 10.3
workstation. It is working fine for all other machines in the district.
(8.6-9.x. - 10.2.8) The database is stored on the 10.2.8 server and we
are having erratic results trying to connect. I have the alsdata file
set to automount. Some days it connects and works, other days says the
database cannot be found. Anyone using this successfully with 10.3
machines? Would it help if I updated the software to Version 6? Or
then would I have to update everyone in the building to version 6?
I have been on the apple discussion site and Renlearn site and there is
no help available at either place.
Thank you,
