You may want to look into Assimilator (www.assimilator.com) for putting
machine contents back with a minimum of a learning curve.

You may want to read a bit on RevRdist here :

If you like a DOS-like command interface, Look into RevRdist. If you like
manipulating icons, Assimilator, much easier if you're a Mac user.
