Did you know that you can set up Kerberos Authentication against AD?

First, follow the direction in the AD pdf @http://www.apple.com/macosx/server

Then configure Kerb:

http://web.mit.edu/macdev/Development/MITKerberos/LoginAuthenticator/Documentation/
using.html

default_realm is your AD, which must be defined below, in the realms section.

Your KDC = you AD controller (the machine where the accounts
reside... whatever they're calling it these days ;-)

Everything else should go mostly according to the docs above.

When you're finished, do:

sudo defaults write com.apple.loginwindow AuthenticatorBundle
/System/Library/Authenticators/Kerberos.loginAuthenticator

(watch the line wrap)

...Enjoy.
