And I've had problems with ASIP losing the capture in a way NT/Win2K doesn't

The only way that this could be true would be if NT keeps re-capturing the printers (possibly on boot/starting print services). All that happens when you "capture" a printer is that it sends a tiny PostScript command to the printer to tell it to no longer advertise itself on the network. It sends that command ONCE, and the printer will remember that state until (1) told otherwise, or (2) it gets a hard factory reset. Since the command is designed to be given once and then left alone, there is nothing that ASIP could do to "lose" the capture, unless you mean that it can't find the printer. I took it to mean that it releases the printer...I may be misinterpreting you.
