Re: OS 9.1.x System File corruption

Very weirdnesses here...

Every single machine I've ever installed any OS 9 newer than 9.0.4 (i.e. OS
9.1, 9.2.1, 9.2.2), about half the time after a machine crashes, upon
reboot, I get a error -1728...

-1728 looks very much like an AppleScript error. Could you have some AppleScript running somewhere?

You're quoting OS's which have been shipping with highly bogus versions of AppleScript, namely 1.7, 1.8.1 and 1.8.2.

I suggest that you check your versions of AppleScript and, either downgrade to 1.6, or upgrade to 1.8.3 (I would not say which one is better). In case you have to make so "manually", you may want to know that changing the version of AppleScript consists (here) in replacing two files: the "AppleScript" extension and the "Standard Additions" scripting addition.
