Seeking User reports on Snap Server and other NAS devices

All,

I'm looking for user reports on Network Attached Storage solutions that have
proven to be as close to "set and forget" as is possible.

One of our satellite campuses is almost completely isolated from our main
campus LAN (Win2k Server and mixed Mac/PC clients). connection is dial-up at
best, and that's flaky.

We have a 10 CPU Mac Lab that needs 40 - 80 gb server space requiring almost
ZERO maintenance. I'm looking for <$1,000 price point, too.

ideas? suggestions?
