Carbon Copy Cloner and FCP

Kevin

Not sure that I can directly adress your question - a guess would be
something to do with the system drive name.

I use images to restore busted machines in an FCP lab (we use shrinkwarp
which is really just a user interface for diskcopy). FCP is on the
images (this sounds a bit different from your situation). One nugget of
info we discovered is that there is an important difference between FCP
lab pack installs and FCP single license installs. The key difference is
in a file called "Final Cut Pro User ID" which resides in two places:

system folder/application support/final cut pro support
System folder/system prefrences/final cut pro data

This file needs to be unique for each machine is you don't have lab pack
licenses. Rather than have a unique image for each machine we just
restore the unique versions of "Final Cut Pro User ID" after restoring
the universal image.

Not sure that info will help but it may be useful to someone.

Cheers

Alastair
