That sounds promising,

Could I ask for some more information about creating the actual image. I will follow the terminal commands in the link that you sent me to enable net boot for older macs, but then what? I want to boot them with an OS 9.2 system, how do i create that restore image and the netboot image? Do I use netboot helper or something similar from Mike Bombich, or do I use CCC or apple software. Any assistance you can give would be appreciated

NetBoot is also an option. If you have good networking (100Mbit or better), this may be preferred for managing multiple images in a lab. You can configure an unlimited number of images in Apple OS X Server. Net booting on older machines may be difficult. You should remember to have current firmware on all old machines. I was able to get everything with a G4 processor to Netboot. G3 based machines require the older version of Netboot, which you can enable, but is not enabled by default.
