Re: "Others" in logon window

- Use tab to "select" the one user on the main login window, so that it is selected (but not actually clicking it so that it prompts you for a password), and then press option-enter. This causes generic username and password fields to appear.

Or,

- Enable the root user. This forces "Other" to appear in List of Users mode.

Hello, all. I have a system admin with a question. By changing the user
id to less than 500 he has created a hidden admin account. He would like
to have the "Other" user as an option at the logon window in addition to
the local main user account. Does anyone know how to make this appear
when there is no LDAP nor AD lookup in place? Nor are there multiple
visible accounts on the system. Again, the main user is visible. But the
hidden admin account will ot show up if the user ID is less than 500. Any
ideas where the plist file is to Force-show the "Other" user logon option
would be appreciated. The image will be Panther--fresh build. Not an
upgrade from 10.2.x.

Thhank you,
