Re: Scanner that supportrs template/AD accounts?

Use logGen if you want to find out before & after screenshots of your system. Works well, and I have used to find new and changed files after installing updates, or apps.

Why don't they work in this environment? e.g. what do the HP scanners need in the homedir in order for the scanner to work? A directory with certain permissions? A file? A config entry in somewhere? That is
what I would look for. You may have this probably with multiple devices/scanners. See if you can find what changes on your computer
when you add a HP scanner. (i.e. do a file system snapshot and then do a difference to see what changed after you 'added' the HP scanner/software)

Hey guys and gals,
I'm a bit stuck right now, and not sure where to turn. I
have a lab that I just converted over to authenticating against active
directory with. So far it works great, with the exception that it has
HP scanners in it. Not a big deal when being used with a single user
account, or accounts created on the mac - but the way I have our
machines set up - a user's account and home directory are created at
login based on the English.lproj template. I just got word from HP
today that their scanners don't work in this environment (which is
really disappointing).
So I was wondering if anyone out there might know what
scanners *DO* work in this situation? If you need more info, let me
know. I'm trying to find some hardware to put into this lab before the
start of fall classes.
