get lan speed settings

Is there a way to get the lan speed settings through the command line
in Mac OS X. I can do this on a Solaris machine using a combination of
netstat -i and the ndd command. Unfortunately there is no ndd command
in OS X. What i want is a printout looking like this:

Interface Speed Duplex
------------ ----------- ----------
hme0 10 Mbit/s Half

I am also looking for a way to do this on a linux box as well, but that
is not for this list ;-)

Thanks,

-Rhon
