Re: Airport base station logging

Maybe you need the special translator for Airport to 802.11b

Network Name = SSID
Password = one way hash of WEP key
Equivalent Network Password = Encryption Key = WEP key

Try this site for information:

The password that you configure on the airport and with your airport
client is somehow magically hashed into a wep key. This is a good
thing, since it seems to make a fairly strong key. I think it might
even be a one-way hash, which might make it slightly more difficult to
run a dictionary attack against.

Thanks for that, but re looking into the problem for setting up the PC, is
there doesn't seem to be a way to provide the password. I am using a WAVELAN
Orinoco card (card is about 2 years old), in it control panel settings, I
can specific the network name, and there another tab which specifies the
encryption key to use. I have looked in the general network setting, but
there nothing there :-(

Any ideas

Thanks
Mark.
