Re: Need a good BDS socket wrapper

Hi & thks for reply,

I tried Async Socket and I believe are good socket wrapper, but I'm founding some problems parsing the packets, so I decided to write my own thread based class using BSD API ported to mac.
I really would like to work on it as open source project in order to give a powerful class (as omni group framework does ).

Hope you can help me :)

Thank you
Yorh

Greetings Yorh,
There are couple frameworks that come to mind.  One is the Cocoaized MPI produced by Jean-Mattieu Schaffhauser for his dissertation at Oxford Brookes.    Another is NSPorts (aka NS Distant Objects).    Of course, the Java world has many examples such as SORCER.

Hi to all,

I'm new of this list but I always developed some network apps.
Now I'm searching a good thread based socket class for my p2p application.
I tried Async Socket but are runLoop based, smallsockets , but aren't asyncronous....
Are there any other classes I missed?

Or is better to write my own class using BSD API?
What so you think?

Thank you all
Yorh
