controlling internet access

I am novice put in charge of a school's emerging network. I am confused as to the whether to use NetBoot or Macintosh manager to control my students' computers. Or can I configure the server as a router? The students will run 9.2 through 10.1 on iBooks with Airport cards. The teachers have G4s connected by ethernet to a router (two airports are connected to the router as well) and we have a new OSX server. Everyone can see the server, but I want the students to only have access to the web and files through the server. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. - John
