Re: Sony SDT-S9000/BM DDS tape drive problems

I don't know anything about the drive, but did you install a driver for the scsi card?

I have a G4 dual processor system running MacOSX Server 10.1.4 with an Apple installed SCSI card. I have connected my Sony DDS drive to this port, restarted the system, but the Apple Profiler does not see the device. This is a 24 GByte tape device that I would like to use with Retrospect for backups, but it is not visible from either the Profiler or the Retrospect program. This tape works fine with my Tru64 5.1 UNIX OS, but not with the MacOSX Server (BSD UNIX) system. Any thoughts or suggestions would be most welcome. Thanks.
