Hello All

Thanks for all of the help, from Scott, Tomas, Marcos & Jurgen for the answer. It was the root user privileges. I forgot I had changed the usual login admin name, so I used root.

I only remember starting up Windows services, nothing else.

The single user mode showed errors on the int 60GB HD, which I followed the instructions to fix. These should be fixed on startup according to 1ST Aid!

Lesson learnt from this :

As a GUI person, this stuff is good when it goes on and on. I know all about ASIP since AS2.0 on SE/30, but when good people tell me to set this and set that, do that, I know nothing!

3 detailed lines of code brings it all back without a re-install, which was my next task. NT4 servers are just the same, probably. Scared the crap out of me, made me small. Thanks list!

So..... where can I learn some introductory stuff on Unix command line, with a big bias for OSX and OSX Server? Surely not RTFM? ;-) I got an OSX manual with my renewal to Macuser UK, but it is just a menu listing, worthless in most cases! Should have stuck with another copy of Lara Croft!

All of those startup keys sequences, like the ones in OS9, where are they listed?

Thanks again.
