NetInfo Manager, backing up NetInfo database, and nibindd

Hi, has anyone else seen this? I've seen it on two differently configured Mac OS X 10.1.5 machines so far...

- Open the NetInfo Manager
- Open the local domain /
- Authenticate as an administrator
- Choose "Save Backup" from the File menu
- Accept the default, or choose any directory you have write access to
- Receive error message 'Can't find process ID for "nibindd'!

Indeed, if I check with ps, there is no nibindd process running.
Nor does System/Library/SystemConfiguration/Kicker.bundle/Resources/restart-NetInfo succeed in restarting it (mainly because it's looking for an existing process ID for nibindd and then trying to HUP it, but there is no process ID).

I can't work out why it's not running, but it has me feeling concerned, especially because I feel there might be something wrong.
