Why is it that we feel the absolute need to apply an update just because it
shows up in Software Update? If things are working, then there is no need to
update - unless you have nothing to do.

Now that we're running Unix, it is no longer true that if things appear to be working you shouldn't run the upgrade. Software Updates now sometimes include security fixes that should be installed whether or not you have personally been hit by people exploiting the security problems they fix.
