Word Equation Editor

Has anyone had any problems with word equation editor, specifically under
a Netinfo setup? We had problems with MM and OS9, and are basically having
the same problems under OSX with network mounted drives. I'm not sure
whose fault this is or if anything can be done about it. Here's the report
we've gotten from one user, with several other users saying the same
thing.

I use Word and its equation editor. First of all, every single time I go
to insert an equation, I get an "MT Extra Font" error message and there is
a 3-second delay. Because of this delay (and the constant inserting of
things like "f(x)" and "t" and stuff) it can take five to ten times as
long to type out a simple bunch of math.

But also the equation editor often simply doesn't work. I have learned
how to "Customize" my Microsoft Word whenever the equation editor isn't
available -- using Sherlock to find equation editor, and then inserting
the command manually into the set of available objects. But often (like
today) the usual "Customize" ritual doesn't work either.
