OS X 'kernel panic' with MS Entourage X

All of our Mac OS X (10.1.4) client computers experience a severe 'kernel
panic' system crash when exiting Microsoft Entourage X, after Entourage has
been running for 3 or more hours from a network user account.

OS X Server is at version 10.1.4/10.1.4 server and all security fixes.
OS X Clients are at version 10.1.4 and all security fixes.
Entourage has been updated with the latest 10.0.3 release from Microsoft.

This crash can be duplicated by doing the following:

1. On OS X Server, create a new user account in the parent Netinfo domain

2. On OS X Client, login as the new network user account and start Entourage
X.

3. Do not connect to any mailbox when Entourage prompts you. Simply close
the Connection Wizard if it pops up, and let Entourage run for 3 hours or
more. (no mailbox connection is necessary to make Entourage crash)

4. After 3 or more hours, quit Entourage X. OS X kernel panics!

We are currently experiencing 1-2 severe system crashes on all OS X client
computers on a daily basis. These crashes are not only damaging to the
integrity of each machine's filesystem, but also give the impression to our
users that the Mac OS X OS is unstable, unreliable, and can suffer from
severe crashes by major 3rd party software products.

We first experienced this problem in January 2002, and there have been a few
minor updates to OS X over the past several months. But none have addressed
this problem.

This problem appears to only exist with the usage of 'network' user accounts
and not 'local' user accounts. We chose to implement 'network' user
accounts using an OS X network in order to avoid the pitfalls of a Windows
network, and the storage of information on individual computers.

Anyone else experiencing this problem? I've reported it to Apple several
months ago, but apparently to no avail. I'm now wondering if Apple even
intends to address this problem at all. From what I understand, Apple
regards any kernel panic problem as their responsibility to fix, since the
OS X system should prevent any programs from crashing the system.
