I just want safety for the boot-disk of a server. So i`m looking for an ATA-Card that supports RAID-1 and is bootable.

All Cards I know only do RAID-0.

Not that I know of. Maybe other people have and have successfully implemented a configuration. The only native ATA RAID system I know of is made by the following company and I haven't tried them since I'm not interested in non-SCSI RAID:

Can I trust on Apples SoftRAID solution?

Considering the number of problems I've read about on this mailing list alone, I wouldn't. I don't trust ANY software-based RAID solution anyway. I've experienced one (by InitIO and SoftRAID) on an older G4 hose the boot process to the point that I had to reformat it as a non-RAID solution to bring it back up. And that wasn't easy either because something got written to the boot blocks that I vaguely remember having to jump through hoops to get rid of. <shudder>
