Actually, my experience with CCCloner and a FireWire external has been that
we can wipe a drive clean and install our standard loadset in under 15
minutes. Of course, the install in question has been delocalized and
includes no user data, but it still weighs in at close to two gigs.

That's pretty small, I'm talking whole disks. Normal, whole filesystems in full operation, populated with users and sites tend to be far more than 2GB.

And psync and rsync and just copy the modified files which makes subsequent operations much quicker.
