[Apple List Admin] Re: Benutzeranzahl - enough already...

Hi all,

To officially end this thread:

* Should someone post in any language aside from 100% grammatically correct English, do NOT send a reply -- public or private -- unless that reply is in direct response to the user's question. In other words, if a user posts in Swahili and you don't speak Swahili, don't reply. If you *do* speak Swahili, you might consider translating the original post and sending your reply in both English and Swahili. We'll even let you go over the 12k limit to do so.

* When users act inappropriately, the list admins typically chastise those users off-list. Rest assured, if an admin sees an inappropriate post, it is dealt with. If a user is a repeated problem, chances are we aren't aware of it. E-mail email@hidden.

* We sometimes send a public note if it is warranted. Cases we might do this:
-- Other list users attack the person that committed the offense for committing the offense
-- List users think the person's behavior is ok, and start to do it themselves
-- Off-topic conversation about the first inappropriate remark ensues
-- Any other case where we think a little clarification is needed

Such notes are not meant to be public embarrassment. But if you make a comment that comes off as inappropriate -- no matter how well you meant it or how accidental you claim it to be -- the site admins have a reasonable right and duty to publicly clarify policy on the issue. (For clarification, it is a violation of terms of service to privately e-mail a list member to chastise, criticize, flame, or otherwise harass if you obtained their e-mail address via the mailing lists.)

With that said, I ask (and require) that you all cease discussion on this thread immediately. Should you have any questions or concerns, please e-mail me privately.
