OS 9 client- No response from server

Here's a problem I've encountered when OS 9 clients (our entire office) connect to our freshly installed 10.2.5 server. Users mount the shared volumes through the Chooser and all is good. However, if they go back to the Chooser to mount an additional volume on the server, a dialog box pops up saying "There is no response from the server."

In order to access any more shares on the server you must put away all the existing server volumes and reconnect to the server.

I called Apple and the rep I spoke with said they are aware of that problem and are looking into it. He also said that their "solution" to the no response problem is to throw away all mounted shares and re-connect. Has anybody else seen this error?
