Re: Static automounts

Sorry if I was not clear it's AFP or NFS not both.

I attached screen shots of my set up I use NFS but the set up for AFP is
the same make sure that "guest" accounts can access and have privileges to
the volume.

On the shared volumes I actually disable any protocols not used, so in my
case because I am using NFS AFP, SMB and FTP are off on this share.

Also make sure you have a DNS server with proper PTR records set up.

Thanks for sending the screenshots, but that is already EXACTly how my shares are configured.

When I automount a shared Applications folder in /Network, the client sees a busted alias in /Network.
When I automount a shared Fonts folder in /Network/Library, the fonts themselves show up in /Network/Library, NOT in /Network/Library/Fonts.

I've tried putting a Fonts folder inside the shared Fonts folder, but that didn't work either.

Oh, and it works incorrectly in either AFP or NFS. All my dynamic mounts and mcx prefs work fine.

I've been fighting this issue since last summer and I keep thinking that each OS update will fix it, but I'm convinced that it's STILL an OS bug and that it works randomly for some people and not others.
