Does Apple Mail Server Work?

We have a Windows 2000 server running imail. I am considering switching over to the 10.2 mail server. However, I know the 10.1 mail server did not work so well. Has Apple made significant enough improvements to warrant its use? Bottom line: Is Mac os 10.2 a good, reliable, mail server platform?

Is there any way to set up anti-virus scanning on the mail server?

Are backups of the mail server reliable?
