I've got OS X Server 10.3.4 installed on 6 Xserves. So far, 4 of them have locked up in a very strange fashion._______________________________________________
The first symptom is that syslogd stops working and needs a "kill -9" and a restart to work again. Momentarily thereafter (usually less than a day) the Xserve will go to a completely black screen with only the spinning mouse cursor.
All networking access (SSH, timbuktu, console connections over a Cyclades) is blocked and all services halt. I've double checked the console messages and the system logger, both of which have turned up nothing.
I'm considering replacing the default syslog daemon with syslog-ng. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
