Automatically mount AD user shares at login

hello list

After short break I'm still banging my head on this issue - back to the
grind again!

Snip from off-list msg ------

Something to try would be to see if the kerb
tickets are being pocked up properly and if single sign-on to the SMB
user
folder working. By default the AD plugin should mount a user folder, as
defined in the user's AD profile, on the desktop via SMB and put a icon
in
the Dock for it.

-----

The university here does not implement KERBEROS - As far as I know we
use NTLM

So is what I am asking possible? Or will this only work with KERBEROS

I may have not explained myself well enough the first or 2nd time :(

We have all the students "userspace" directories based on a windows
2003 file server. This path is specified in the windows 2003 AD MMC
console

When students log in to windows, they have their folder mapped & can
access this via the windows explorer window.

The University would like similar for Mac.

When a student logs into a Mac, they wish to have the Logged in Student
to have their "userspace" folder mounted on the desktop or in the dock.

Running OS X 10.3.4 clients

Kind Regards
