RE: FileVault and AD

FileVault will not work if you have a network home directory. Why would
you really want to use FileVault for network storage anyway? The main
purpose of FileVault is to prevent other users on the local system from
getting access to your data by booting from another volume or from
resetting a user's password if a notebook is stolen. If you have a
network home directory and file permissions are setup correctly, other
users would not be able to bypass the security to access the files.

Subject: FileVault and AD

Hello,
I was wondering is anyone has tried to turn on FileVault for a mobile
user in AD?

I have tried but I get a error message saying I'm a networked user or
my home dir is on the network.

I would really like to use FileVault.

Thanks,
- Charles
