Re: syslogd missing in action?

Any ideas?

As to the cause, not yet. Just some troubleshooting steps:

- Is syslogd running ("ps -ax | grep syslogd")?

- If not, try starting it manually ("sudo /usr/sbin/syslogd -s -m 0")
and check again to see if it's running.

- You might get more information by starting syslogd with the
"-d" flag.

My system logging seems to have gone away. Nothing is recorded in the
log, not after the daily roll over of the logs, not after rebooting,
not after cold starting, etc.
