Help on full duplex

All,

I tried using article 107475 off apple supports website to set my nic to 100 full deplex. Upon completion I rebooted the server and now the nic will not work at all. If I do an ifconfig the nic's status says unknown type and inactive. I have switched to the onboard nic for now but I really need to figure out why this did not work. If anyone can help it would be great. I am running 10.2.8. Thanks
