Hi folks,
I'm trying to backup some data from XServe over the network to FW
disk. I found very weird problem:
The FW disk is connected to 10.2 client, where a non admin user
(maria) is logged. It appears on the desktop and I'm connected
through ssh to the client machine. The problem is, that even I'm
root on the client machine, every folder/file created has _maria_
owner. I tried different ways of mounting disk but it's still the
same.
What do I wrong?
Nothing, this is the expected behavior. The disk is a removable media
and when it was "inserted"/mounted the user Maria was the owner of
the console and the user to whom it got mounted. It may also have
"ignore owner" enabled.
Forcefully dismount the disk and mount it yourself.
