Hi all,
We recently ran into a strange network home issue.
While setting up a new Xserve and G5 workstations we setup network
homes. Once DA was configured the automount would pop up and you
could just logout and log back in as one of the users. If you
rebooted though it would never come back. You could go into DA,
clear the auth path, set it up again, logout and immediately back in
and it would work. The network homes just didn't survive a reboot.
Long story short, the Macs were booting too fast and missing the
mount. (The Xserve is in a differnt subnet.) You could login as the
local admin, HUP DirectoryServices, and then login as a network user.
Aren't network machines required to be on the same subnet?
(From a support position.)
