Hello List !
I'm new to Xserve and had no big difficulty except one :
The log files of my web sites seems to be destined to disappear
seven days later...
Like as if they were archived or roated out?
In OS X Server you can configure the use of rotatelogs in the GUI.
Likewise periodic, the facility, reaps old log files and has a
daily/weekely/monthly schedule.
I would like to give 1 year of activity stats to my customers and
had no problem with apache rotatelogs before.
Then you'll also want to move the log files to someplace to which the
user has access but is non-public (for security) like a ~/logs
Is there a way to preserve 365 log files for each site?
You want daily rotated logs with a one year retention.
Where is the diabolic parameter for that? I can't find any doc about
a purge delay in apache documentation.
It's not part of the Apache project, this is a sysadmin task.
All my sites are configurate with rotate access log daily and error
log weekly. Is the weekly error log the culpable?
No.
Anyone had the same problem?
Only those who don't properly have their configuration matching their policy.
