This is intended behavior. The AD plugin only caches the AD groups, and
on the default refresh is set for 12 hours.
The AD plugin does not enumerate; it will download all new group
information which can generate a lot of traffic to your GC
if you have large domain with a fair amount of groups. You can edit
this yourself by looking for the Group Search Interval Hours string in
the Active Directory.plist in /Library/Preferences/DirectoryService.
The default is 12. But, like I said, I would be careful altering this
interval to a too low setting. Proceed with caution and work with your
AD admins.

Hey list,
I have my Open Directory pointed at our AD Master and it seems to be
working
fine except I cannot make changes on the OD to the users/groups/and
passwords. I understand that this isn't something that can be done in
Workgroup manager - must be done on the AD box. That's Fine.
My problem is that while Users are propagated down to the OD WGM
relatively
quickly, the Groups take FOREVER. Does anyone else experience this?
And
more importantly, does anyone have a solution to this dilemma - other
than
unbinding, rebinding and then restarting.
Thanks!
