Yes, that's true for external DNS, but this refers only to client
computers behind NAT. Apple says to put the IP address of the server
running DNS (internal!!!) as a single entry. Doubling it does eliminate
this Safari problem—if you have a similar set up.

While not denigrating the efficacy of your solution, you guys do know
that
the standards require you to have two DNS servers, don't you ? That's
why
there's space for multiple DNS hosts in the box rather than just one.
