Re: AppleFileService CPU usage - Maybe a memory problem?

So I am starting to think that the culprit with my server is something with a memory leak of some sort. I have been watching it, and While we are getting hit pretty hard when there is a lot of usage, there generally isn't that much network bandwidth taken up. For example right now there are 75 users connected ( 41 render farm machines and the rest users), the farm is rendering, and users are working, and the CPUs are both pegged, but there is not that much ethernet traffic ( three gigE cards, with the total Tx for all three at about 2-4MB/s and total RX at about 10-20MB/s. with peaks of about 50-60MB/s. not much ). But the thing I notice is there is 4gigs of RAM in this box and I currently have 340MB wired, 2.42GB Active, 1.21 Inactive, leaving 47MBs free. The Page ins/outs are at 372869514/267904. Sometimes the active will go down and the inactive will boost up to 3.4Gbs and then the inactive will clear out and there will be about 3ish Gigs free and everything will speed up. The weird thing is that although I am seeing all this memory usage, I can't figure out whats taking it all. the AppleFileService is only taking like 50MBs and the Virtual is at like 140MBs. Could the CPUs pegging be because of all the page in/outs?

I am really not sure whats going on, anybody have any ideas?

Thanks,
Brent
