RE: Xserve, FTP Server solution.

The website is being rewritten to run on the windows 2003 server. We
have yet to talk to anyone who has successfully setup the permissions
set that we need on a windows server, hence we are looking at staying on
the UNIX platform for the FTP portion. We also want to maintain the FTP
functionality. We want as little interruption and difference in the
setup as we can get. As for any other reasons, I am not sure. Storage
is probably one reason why we don't do that. I am not aware of any
other reasons, The head of the department just came to me and asked if
it was feasible, because of my Mac experience.

Well, in that case it probably is not a fit. I'm curious though, why not
integrate the file transfer into the web app and eliminate the FTP
Server. Seems like that might be a more streamlined approach.
