I would think that as long as the second server is able to retrieve authentication information from the PDC, you should be able to host user home directories. Actually, I know you can. As a matter of fact, in Server Admin, if you set the Windows sharing role to "Domain Member", the description for the role is exactly what you want.


Once you've setup the second server properly, you need to use Workgroup Manager to change the home directory location to be \\SECONDSERVER\SOMEUSER or similar. You can find the setting for this on the Windows tab for each user.
