No ACIOSX is not a FQDN.
ACIOSX is the name of the computer and disk drive that is the server being
used. It can not determine its own IP. Proftpd and mysql are both on the
Server ACIOSX.
When the ftp connection request comes in, it is started:
Sep 24 05:43:02 localhost xinetd[386]: START: ftp pid=640 from=24.24.240.16
But the IP error cause it to quit with the error message:
Sep 24 05:43:03 ACIOSX proftpd[2278] ACIOSX: Fatal: unable to determine IP
address of 'ACIOSX'.
Something with the update or OpenDirectory has caused some map file to lose
the .local or localhost ip address.
Well if it was asking for localhost it wouln't be using this name
instead. If it was using zeroconfig it would say ACIOSX.local.
Try adding a /etc/hosts file entry or configure proftpd and mysql to
operate on localhost, the phyiscal IP address, or the real fqdn of
this system.
