We use mobile accounts (especially for students) so I can maintain controls
through WGM. We use Microsoft's Remote Desktop Connection (Terminal
Services) for most PC only software and VNC to a spare windows box for some
specialty apps that do not work under Terminal Services. We avoid Virtual
PC.
We have been switching people to Mobile accts by:
--Back up existing local home directory to FW HD.
--Create admin account locally with full privileges.
--Use Directory Access to engage LDAP via DHCP (Works for us but you may
have problems)
--Create the Mobile User in WGM
--Copy back necessary info and data from local home dir backup.
I am sure there are better ways, but this is relatively convenient for us.
All the details should be in the manuals.
