1-Yes, all network access comes to a screeching halt.
On the Mac-mgrs list several people mentioned that if the files are "Windows
apps that require byte-range locks" they will fail if the files are served
via OSX or BSD some mentioned the same possible problem with serving up
Quickbooks files.
2-We did try changing the oplock settings but it didn't help.
BTW, I am not embarrassed to tell you, I have no clue what byte-range locks
are...
And thanks for the input guys...I though everyone was ignoring me there for
awhile.
