Re: Solution: Windows Home Directories and PDC/member servers

Well I figured it out. Turns out I was just selecting the AFP share under
the "home" tab. This works on the PDC, but when your home directory is on a
member server you need to specify the Home directory location under the
"Windows" tab.

My login scripts were fine and if anyone wants to map home directories with
95 and 98 clients "net use h: /home" is the way to go.

Ahh...and although it's moot, here's the reason.

If you don't specify a Home under the Windows tab of WGM, then when
the user logs in, Samba will fetch an empty value for it and will
fall back to its default of using the local home dir. That's why
it would only work on the PDC.
