Re: Home directory doesn't show via AFP?

I was able to get Kerberos running...

root 11227 0.0 0.2 28436 2140 ?? Ss 8:23PM 0:00.02 /usr/sbin/kadmind -passwordserver -nofork
root 11228 0.0 0.2 27740 2324 ?? Ss 8:23PM 0:00.03 /usr/sbin/kdcmond -n -a
root 11229 0.0 0.2 28224 2056 ?? S 8:23PM 0:00.02 /usr/sbin/krb5kdc -n -a

...however I haven't had the chance to change my user's home directory settings from the place I manually typed in, /Volumes/Users/ firstlast, back to the AFP share that I set to be an automountable share. Hopefully it will work then.

I was able to test without the firewall a few days ago when we had it offline for an update - we were having the same weird behavior.

I'm not sure if our problems lie in the fact that we used Workgroup Manager to export all our AD users and then imported them into OD (is this the proper way?) or in the fact that Kerberos is not running (which will be fixed on Monday).

I am able to resolve the server's DNS name to it's IP, as well as
it's IP to it's DNS name, so I don't think that DNS is the problem.
We have a firewall between the server and it's clients, however since
some users are able to see both the Users share and their Home folder
when logging in via AFP, I do not think that this is an issue. Port
548 is open.

If possible, I would suggest testing somewhere without the firewall. Can
you can open it up for testing without exposing yourself to the net or
maybe test the server on your LAN behind the firewall?
