No, actually, I at least don't know the rest. Did you boot from the CD and
use the "reset password" utility? Did you erase your drive and reinstall?
Did aliens steal your FireWire DVD writer? What happened?

Ideally you'd do something like this:

Problem: A one-paragraph description of the problem you encountered. For
instance, "I forgot my password, and when I tried to reinstall the system I
was left in an unbootable state. Now the Xserve refuses to read the install
DVD. Help!"

Details: As much as necessary to outline the situation. For instance: "The
server was running 10.3.9. I'm trying to boot it off an external FireWire
DVD drive that I've verified is bootable on my PowerBook. Neither 10.3.4 cd
not 10.4.0 DVD will boot it. The server was configured as a standalone. It's
a single-processor G5 with 2GB RAM and a hardware RAID card; three 250GB
drives are formatted as a 500GB RAID 5. There is a FireWire AIT-2 drive
(LaCie) connected."

Steps taken to fix the problem, with result. As many as it takes. One
example: "I tried powering the machine down, disconnecting all other
FireWire devices, and ejecting the hard drives to force it to boot from CD.
The CD drive spins up, but then spins back down, and the system fails to
boot. I waited 15 minutes, but no dice. This occurred with the internal CD
and the external FireWire DVD burner."

We're helpful (if often brusque), but we ain't psychic. Help us help you.
