I've just tried, try holding down the Option key brings up command
line that asks me to type mac-boot than another command line with no
prompt, then I held down Command+ Option + Shift + Delete keys, it
just went to Password.

Hmmm. That's odd.

If holding the option key down takes you to the OF prompt then something is wrong. Get it to the OF prompt again and reset nvram by entering, "reset-nvram" and then "reset-all".

If it still boots to the OF prompt with just the option key held I would put in your hardware test disc and loop it overnight to try and find where the issue is hiding.
