Re: Netboot Startup Question

IIRC, you need to enable DHCP (but without enabling any subnet ranges) in order to notify clients through DHCP options where to find a Netboot image.

Well, I did enable the only image as the default, however, that made no difference.

Could it be that I also need to enable Web Services even though I won;t be serving via HTTP?

As before, I can see the image in the Startup Disk pane but not by restarting with the Option key (or restarting with the N key).

Thanks,
Mark

Hi,

I am trying to run Netboot and not having much success. Although I have
had tests work fine in a closed environment, running on the network is
presenting problems.

Once thing that I find puzzling is that when I start up a client
holding down the option key at startup, I do not get the Net boot Globe
icon, however, I do see my Netboot image when using the Startup Disk
preference in System Preferences.

I do have DHCP turned on (although not enabled as DHCP is handled
elsewhere).

I currently have only one image set as enabled (but without the Default
radio button checked).

Any info would be appreciated.
