break it up into groups, less than 400 on each import. It works

I am trying to import 4000+ records into open directory from a text
file. I am trying the dsimport command with some basic switches...
dsimport -g /Users/diradmin/inputfile /LDAPv3/127.0.0.1. A -u
diradmin -p -T xDSStandardUser -s 2000 -userpreset student
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks,
Lee
