We import comuter accounts, not users however I have imported hundreds
of computers at a time....and have seen one issue..
I create the computerlists ahead of time applying the presets to the
list (I didn't want to worry about importing with MCX records etc) then
import all the computers, then import all the lists but use the APPEND
option and all the computers info is populated into the existing
computerlist.
For the most part, all was fine....I can then click on the list, see the
computers etc...NOW I have the lists in and imported everything, but
when I click on a list, all I get is the spinning pointer at the bottom
of WGM. I can click on the PREFERENCES button and see the prefs for the
group, and the MCX settings are being read since the client is getting
it's loginwindow text and such.....
I have a case open with Apple but didn't know if anyone wanted to throw
something in there?

Just for reference I imported 5K users via WGM last night in to my test
box, applying AFP home locations and mail attributes from a preset.
Worked fine, remotely even through some port forwarding from my wireless
to my test LAN. Mac OS X Server 10.4.2.
