Hmm if it autoset your search base to
dc=X-Server,dc=local doesn’t that mean the hostname/FQDN isn’t working from DNS
and it’s more likely that was the culprit before? I think I’d still check and
make sure DNS is functioning as you expect 9 times out of 10 when I’m having
binding/auth issues that’s the case. From:
